Celebrating Artist Beverly Buchanan In this Black History Month program, construct and decorate your own cardboard house inspired by the work of artist Beverly Buchanan! Inspired by the "shack" art of artist Beverly Buchanan, turn ordinary cardboard into a unique work of art! African American artist Buchanan (1940-2015) worked in various mediums but is perhaps best known for artwork that depicted the "shack" housing of the American south. We will use recycled cardboard in addition to colorful art supplies to construct our own artsy homes. All supplies provided. This program is designed for K-3rd grade children, but both older and younger children may also enjoy it! Space is limited; register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins. Accessibility needs? Please contact ask@acpl.info as soon as possible - we’d love to help.
