Floating Trinkets

· 4:00 PM–6:00 PM

Intermediate 3D Printing Already familiar with the basics of 3D Printing using the Studios' Prusa Printers? Up your skills by learning how to embed fabric into your 3D print. Come to the Studio at Shawne to learn intermediate 3D printing techniques! Patrons will learn how to embed fabric into their print in order to create a Floating Trinket. After uploading a frame STL into TinkerCAD, patrons will create a design within the frame. Patrons will then export this to Prusa Slicer, where we will teach you how to schedule a pause in your print. Once paused, tulle fabric can be manually inserted into the middle of the print, creating a floating effect for the inner elements. Participation in Intro to 3D Printing or previous f amiliarity with CAD and Slicer software and Prusa Printers is highly recommended prior to attending this program . Limited to 6 participants. This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers. Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins. Accessibility needs? Please contact ask@acpl.info as soon as possible - we’d love to help. About the Prusa MK4s: Learn more about the Prusa Mk4S 3D Printer (manuals, specs, and more) at the official website. In the Studio please ask staff for the paper copy of the manual for reference, or a copy of our Overview Operation Instructions. First time 3D Printing? Consider registering for our Intro to 3D Printing program where you learn how to create 3D Models, as well as how to program models in Prusa Slicer software so our 3D Printers can print them.
