DIY Geodes - Kids Craft
· 4:30 PM–5:30 PM
Join us for an hour of geode crafting and smashing! Discover how these crystals are made and put your own spin on one with an interactive activity. Ages 6-11. Let’s talk about rocks! What makes them turn from normal pebbles on the ground to pretty Geodes with crystals? We will spend the beginning of the program exploring this together and then go through the art and science activities as a group. - Craft: we will create our own geodes using egg cartons, food coloring, and epsom salts. - Geode smashing: we will have real geodes that can be cracked open safely using a hammer, safety goggles, and a sock.
